Better people make better athletes

The fear of the unknown, potential embarrassment, the weight of expectations, stress, and anxiety can all make competing in sport very challenging. I should know, I played sport professionally (golf) for many years.

As a PGA golf professional I quickly discovered the importance of the mind game. Looking back, I wish I had access to someone who could have helped me with the mental challenges of competing.
At the end of my playing career, I decided to study and completed a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. This was followed by a postgraduate Masters Degree in Psychology.
Since attaining these qualifications I have worked as a sport psychology lecturer, and was Programme Director of the Lee Westwood Golf School between 2010-2018. I supervised 4 locations, up to 18 coaches, and more than one hundred athletes in any given year.

No matter where you are in your journey, you always want to be better.

As I began to work with athletes from around the world, a lot of the work we did was done remotely (e.g. messaging, video sessions, emails). I started thinking there must be other athletes who could take advantage of this type of support. So, I created the MySportingSpace platform and as a result have enjoyed helping athletes from various sports including cycling, athletics, hockey, squash, golf, football, triathlon, rugby, and kickboxing.

Hello! My name is Gavin Hamlyn (with the family/dog) and I am passionate about helping athletes achieve their goals. I enjoy golf, football, travelling to new places, hiking, and combining these activities with the family as much as possible.
